The Orleans Conservation Trust (OCT) continues to be very interested in the potential environmental effects of the proposed wastewater treatment plant located in close proximity to the Namskaket Marsh.  We are aware of the concerns and the available assessments.  We understand that the issues concerning potential negative environmental impacts to the marsh will be addressed in a more refined fashion during the Groundwater Discharge Permit (GWDP) review process.  The OCT is looking forward to seeing the results of these future environmental assessments, and will be actively engaged in ensuring that the Trust's goals for conservation continue to be attained.  The Orleans Conservation Trust will continue to work to achieve our goal that the Namskaket Marsh lands entrusted to the Trust remain part of a healthy estuarine marsh system in perpetuity.
